Thunderbird Earrings
The Thunderbird is a prominent figure in Native American mythology in the United States and Canada. Described as a supernatural being, this enormous bird symbolized power and strength and was believed to protect humans from evil spirits. It got its name, the Thunderbird, because the flapping of its mighty wings sounded like thunder, and lightning would shoot out of its eyes. According to legends, the bird was so large that it could pick up a whale in its talons. It was described as having bright and colorful feathers, as well as sharp teeth and claws. The Thunderbird was said to live in the clouds high above the tallest mountains.
